Europe - pinball's second largest market

Being the second largest market for pinball, Europe has traditionally been a driving force in the industry. Stories of the almighty German distributor NOVA deciding what would work or not for the European crowds often dictated what would be produced and when. 

These days, the European (and UK) market is still holding a strong position - consuming the newest and latest the industry has to offer, and also has a large base of tens of thousands of older games from previous decades. The costs for shipping and taxes incurred have made the hobby a very expensive one for a European, an English, or an Australian pinball fan to maintain. A headache of red tape and hidden fees.
